Amazing news from the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
BREAKING NEWS! President Barack Obama has signed into law the Defense Authorization Act, which includes the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act! which was formally known as the Pancreatic Cancer Research and Education Act that I wrote about on December 21st.

Tonight was the fabulous Pancreatic Cancer Evening with the Stars Gala in Beverly Hills, CA. It was a wonderful event hosted by Joel McHale (who is hilarious!). The LA Kings, San Diego Padres, Ned Colletti, Jr. (General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers) and Greg Willard (NBA ref) were all honored. Chris Mann (from the Voice) was amazing as well. Sean Kelly from Storage Hunters was the auctioneer and raised over $850,000 tonight. I met some great people and just simply had a lovely evening. I was also fortunate to have a couple doctors at my table that help the organization with research and we were able to chat. Very encouraging for me!! All of these pancreatic events just make me want to push myself harder. Although juicing has been hard, I feel guilty being out here now and eating. I planned on having nothing but my juice until Christmas. Oh well, I will get right back to it as soon as I am back in DC! Though I am not looking forward to coming home because I know that means…chemo…. yuk. I am so ready to get some sleep tonight and then enjoy the rest of my time in Cali before I have to get back to reality!! 🙂
